Upcoming Competitions

March Regional II [Region 1, 2, 3, 4]Saturday, March 21, 2020

Dunbar High School is pleased to welcome Mu Alpha Theta Member and Sponsors from regions 1, 2, 3, and 4 for the March 21 competition.

General Registration Information
  • Only 1 team allowed (except algebra 1)
    • There will be no limit to the number of individual competitors.  However, due to the fact that we will have 4 regions in attendance, for now we will be restricting to 1 team per division.  Depending on enrollment numbers, we may allow additional teams in the Statistics division.  If you would like to field more than 1 statistics team, email me directly at phillipds@leeschools.net, and I let you know if we have space the week before the event.
  • Begin registration online early (prefer month in advance)
    • Please begin registration as soon as you know you will be attending a minimum of 2 weeks before the event.  Even if you partially complete the registration a month in advance, it at least gives me a general headcount of schools  before the event to allow ample time for copies and room arrangements.  The final registration must be submitted and post marked 2 weeks before the event (3/7/2020).  Submitting after this point will result in late fees as outline in the website.
  • Bring Highlighted Roster
    • Bring highlighted roster with student FAMAT ID and division from your schools download area on floridamao.org
  • Sponsor Jobs - Please Pick Preferences
    • If you normally help in scoring/disputes, then I would greatly appreciate your assistance in those areas again.  Please email me directly at phillipds@leeschools.net if you are willing and able to help in those areas.  All others, anticipate having 2 roles so please pick what you would like to be doing.
  • Send Printed Registration and Check
    • Send all money directly to my schools bookkeeper.  Pizza is available at $10 a pizza.  The preference is to preorder it with the registration.  If you have any last minute changes then please bring cash the day of an email me at least a couple days before the event in order to ensure that we are able to get the order for you.

The Registration Desk will open at 8:00 a.m.

We need proctors for both individual and team rounds.  Please volunteer.

IMPORTANT:  Due to limited space, seating for only ONE team in each division.  Students not on a team or taking a second individual test may NOT congregate in the courtyard area between the two main individual testing buildings or anywhere in the parking lots on the outside of these buildings so as not to disturb those who are testing.  These students must congregate outside of the dining hall at the picnic tables or in the field to the west of the dining hall. Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this important matter.

Team Scoring:  Algebra I and Geometry team tests are scored by parts without a summary answer and no sliding scale.  Instead, they will have bonus points awarded by minute if all four parts are answered correctly.
